ABOUT

I'm drawn to pattern, shape and colour. It comes easily to notice and to create — and yet it's a visual puzzle I have to solve every time.

I carry a visual library in my head: images, shapes, objects, spontaneous collages of life. These images will merge into a porcelain object like this vase. This vase was built with coloured porcelain clay (Nerikomi) which added exciting layers of pattern.

Dimensions - height 26 cm, diameter 12 cm

Materials - porcelain - the interior of the vase is glazed, outside surface is a mix of applied matte high pigmented glazes, unglazed areas and pigmented porcelain clay
